Ohio State will spend most of the week at the spring training home of the Dodgers in Vero Beach, Fla., as the Buckeyes (11-1) prepare to face Tennessee (10-1) in the Jan. 1 Citrus Bowl in Orlando. . . . All-American running back Leeland McElroy of Texas A&M; sprained his already-tender left ankle in practice, leaving him questionable for the Alamo Bowl against Michigan on Dec. 28. . . . Montana quarterback Dave Dickenson won the Walter Payton Award as the top player in Division I-AA. Dickenson, a senior, capped off his season by leading the Grizzlies to a 22-20 victory over Marshall in Saturday’s Division I-AA title game.
