Tamara Inoue
Laguna Hills, Junior
Basketball/Guard
Inoue, a starter for Laguna Hills since her freshman year, is starting to play up to her early promise. “We thought she had the potential to be among the top five or six guards in the county,” Coach Lynn Taylor said, “and we think she’s finally getting there.” Last week, Inoue led the Hawks to the title of the Bolsa Grande tournament. In the final two games--victories over Capistrano Valley and Newport Harbor--she made 21 of 28 shots from the field (75%). She scored 30 points in a 56-35 victory over Capistrano Valley and 18 in a 49-31 victory over Newport Harbor in the title game. Inoue depends on quickness to free herself for deadly pull-up jump shots.
