San Fernando : City to Start New Preschool Program
Parents can enroll 3 1/2- to 4 1/2-year-old children in a new preschool program sponsored by the city of San Fernando.
The Tiny Tot Pre-School program, which begins Wednesday at Recreation Park, 208 Park Ave. in San Fernando, will be offered from 9 to 11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
The monthly fee is $20.
The city’s Recreation and Community Services Department organized the program and is using donated educational supplies and other materials to outfit the classroom, said Gwen Indermill, city recreation supervisor. Classes will be taught by Cynthia Romero, an experienced preschool teacher, officials said.
The morning classes will teach students colors, the alphabet, shapes, songs, games and crafts, as well as how to socialize with other children.
If the program is successful, the city may eventually offer classes throughout the week, Indermill said.
