Inter-Tribal Student Group Plans Powwow
Cal State Fullerton’s Inter-Tribal Student Council will sponsor its third annual powwow Saturday at the university.
More than 20 Native American tribes will participate in the event, which will highlight traditional dance, music, arts and crafts and food. Open to the public, it will be from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The powwow is “our way of educating the community,” said Chris Sandoval, chairman of the Inter-Tribal Student Council.
Among tribes represented will be the Acjachmen Juaneno, Sac and Fox, Chumash-Paiute, Shoshone, San Carlos Apache, Tohoo O’Odham and Otoe-Missouria Red Rock.
