Buchanan Campaign Disclaims Fliers
Fliers filled with anti-Semitic messages and demeaning caricatures were distributed in parking lots outside Republican presidential candidate Patrick Buchanan’s political rally earlier this week, but campaign officials Thursday denied any links to the incident.
“This has nothing to do with our campaign,” Buchanan spokesman K.B. Forbes said. “It’s a disgusting act done by sick individuals. We believe it was a smear tactic.”
Forbes said the Buchanan campaign was not informed that fliers would be passed out during the candidate’s appearance Tuesday at the Red Lion Inn. Similar handbills were distributed at the nearby South Coast Corporate Center parking lot. The handbills did not appear to be associated with any event.
