900-Services Article Took Truth, Bent It

It was with great sadness and disappointment that I read ‘900-Services Sales Pitch Jilts Some Investors” (March 9). This article is a perfect example of the media taking the truth and bending it to fit its particular point of view regardless of how it affects those involved.

The article stated the truth about my lack of involvement other than being a hired announcer to explain a product. Unfortunately, however, it then tainted the fact and actually made me out to be guilty by inference.

The infomercial industry is filled with good, honest companies who bring to the public new and innovative ideas. It is a great business in which to be involved, and it’s too bad that there has to be a bad apple among the thousands of legitimate ones.

On a positive note, however, perhaps because of this article, other members of my profession will take a long look at not only the product, but the company behind the product, before they lend their talent and name to any venture.

I was forced into the position of trying to explain to my children and grandchildren that I am not a crook trying to cheat someone out of his or her life savings and that I had done nothing wrong. My attorney is currently preparing a lawsuit against the accused company, and I am moving forward with my career with a clear conscience.
