Silent Auction Will Benefit Youth Club

Share

The Boys & Girls Club of Ventura has figured out not only how to take great care of kids but also of its donors.

Silent auction bidders at a June 8 benefit at the Doubletree Hotel in Ventura will have a chance to help the Boys & Girls Club while winning vacation trips to Hawaii, the Caribbean or Mexico.

Auction items will include a Rolex watch, a refurbished 1989 Ford Escort and a white-water rafting trip. The evening will also afford guests an opportunity to dress up as their favorite Broadway characters.

Dinner will be followed by local vocalists singing a medley of tunes from Broadway musicals as well as the theme songs from “Beauty and the Beast,” “A Chorus Line” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”

The $50-per-person admission fee includes a champagne reception at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6:30, followed by show tunes and the silent auction.

To RSVP for the auction or obtain more information, call (805) 641-5585.

Proceeds will benefit youths, ages 6 to 18, who participate in Ventura Boys & Girls Club activities.

The club’s wrestling program recently received an honorable mention for program excellence from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Five young wrestlers in the club won first or second places at the recent Tri-County Wrestling Championships in Lompoc.
