Girls Incorporated Director Appointed
Shelley M. Westmore has been appointed executive director of Girls Incorporated of Orange County, a branch of the nationwide girls’ advocacy group.
A graduate of UC Irvine’s Graduate School of Management, Westmore was formerly assistant executive director of Orangewood Children’s Home and worked with troubled youth through the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Orange County and the Orange County Social Services Agency.
Girls Incorporated operates from intermediate- and high school-based centers educating young women up to the age of 18 in areas such as body image and prevention of drug abuse.
“The real focus is on a vision of helping girls enter their adulthood successful and creating a vision of young women who will be productive leaders in our community,” Westmore said.
