Jim Kelly’s hamstring injury will sideline the Buffalo Bills’ quarterback for two to three weeks, including Sunday’s game against Dallas.

Kelly does have the schedule in his favor. After the Dallas game, Buffalo has a bye week before facing Indianapolis.

“Jim Kelly is obviously an important part of this team,” said Todd Collins, who will start against the Cowboys. “When somebody like that goes down, it’s up to the new guy to come in and step up. It’s up to the other guys to step up too, and make up for his loss.”

Kelly suffered the injury Thursday during a non-contact passing drill. He apparently dropped back to pass, caught his foot on the turf and felt a pop in his right leg. Results of an MRI showed Kelly has a strained hamstring.

Collins was abysmal in his only start last year, a loss to Houston after Buffalo had clinched the division title. He completed six of 15 passes for 30 yards and was sacked five times.

Running back Bam Morris, who helped lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Super Bowl last season before he was suspended by the NFL, reportedly agreed to contract terms with the Baltimore Ravens.

The Sports Fan Radio Network reported that the Ravens won the bidding for Morris and will sign him for the rest of the season. The move comes after Morris’ four-game suspension was eased by the league Thursday.

Miami Dolphin defensive lineman Aaron Jones underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove damaged cartilage from his right knee and will sit out Monday night’s game against Indianapolis.

Indianapolis owner Robert Irsay, despite returning home from the Mayo Clinic, probably won’t be able to attend a ceremony to honor him at Monday’s game. Irsay, 73, who suffered a stroke last November, returned to Indiana on Thursday after a 41-day stay at the Rochester, Minn., hospital.
