Rio Mesa 47, Camarillo 27--Carl Richardson returned the opening kickoff 90 yards, and added two touchdown runs of four and 11 yards to lead the Spartans (2-0) in the nonleague victory at home.

For the Scorpions (0-2), quarterback Joe Borchard completed 22 of 34 passes for 314 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Mike Anger had eight passes for 88 yards and Bryan Juell had seven for 117 yards.

Rio Mesa’s Richard Almanza returned a fumble 57 yards for a touchdown and quarterback Farhaad Azimi had a 61-yard touchdown run.
