Online Help Is on Hand at Times Home Buyers Fair

Home-buying help is just a click away on the Internet. House-hunters can browse Southland home listings, find the right mortgage and learn what a neighbor’s home sold for.

Learn how to use the Internet in your house-hunt at the Los Angeles Times Home Buyers Fair on Saturday, March 1. The fair will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Center, 700 W. 32nd St., Los Angeles.

A workshop on “Real Estate on the Internet” will be presented from noon to 1:30 p.m., and The Times’ real estate Web site, www.latimes.com/homesource will be demonstrated during the day.

At the morning workshop, fair-goers can learn all about house-hunting and home-buying. The afternoon seminar will focus on mortgage issues, including qualifying, credit and getting the best terms and rates on a home loan.

Along with workshops, more than 50 exhibitors will be on hand, including representatives from HUD, the IRS, the VA, Department of Real Estate and Consumer Credit Counseling Service.
