Valley Builder Heads for Coyote Hills

A San Fernando Valley-based builder is planning its first Orange County project, a 155-home development on a former oil field site in Fullerton. The Braemar Group of Agoura Hills has formed a joint venture with Taiwan-based Chanco Development to build the homes on 33 acres adjacent to the Coyote Hills Golf Course. The company stepped in last year after Chanco’s deal with now defunct builder Birtcher-Hobbs Communities went south. Braemar officials hope to build a gated community at the site with homes of 1,800 to 2,800 square feet ranging from $275,000 to $375,000.

“We hope to start construction in the fall,” said Braemar executive vice president Avi Brosh. Brosh said the site was attractive because of the large number of existing home sales in the city of Fullerton, and the lack of new projects, save for the subdivisions built by builder Standard Pacific Corp. elsewhere in Coyote Hills.
