Three all-county matchups highlight today’s quarterfinal games in the Southern Section playoffs. In Division I, third-ranked Esperanza (25-3-1) travels to fourth-ranked Fountain Valley (18-4-2) in the Sunset League rivals’ third meeting of the season. Fountain Valley and Esperanza were co-champions of the Sunset League and split their two matches.

Santa Ana, the county’s top-ranked team and the second-seeded team in Division I, will travel to La Verne Damien (21-5-2). The Saints (19-0-4) have been dominant in the playoffs, outscoring La Puente Nogales and Chino Hills Ayala, 10-1.
