Bill Nye the Science Guy (KCAL, Sunday at noon) welcomes a high-ranking guest, Vice President Al Gore, in the last new show of the season. In the episode called “Computers,” the science guy traces the evolution of computers from early models that took up entire rooms to the personal laptop that fits into a briefcase. For ages 6 to 12.

A young logger named Zak finds a hidden area in the Australian rain forest with magical creatures in Ferngully ... the Last Rainforest (Disney Channel, Sunday at 10 a.m.). Zak fights to save the creatures who are threatened by humans and their bulldozers. For ages 5 to 10.

Walter Matthau, Tatum O’Neal and Jackie Earle Haley star in The Bad News Bears (TNT, Sunday at 11:30 a.m.). O’Neal is the star pitcher on the team managed by her stepfather (Matthau); Haley plays the top hitter. For the family.

The Power Rangers return for a new season with fresh Turbo powers and Turbo-charged vehicles. In Power Rangers Turbo (Fox Kids Network, weekdays at 4:30 p.m.), the youngest Power Ranger, Blue, is introduced after Rocky is injured in a karate accident. The rangers use their super-charged turbo powers to fend off Divatox, a ruthless evil space pirate. For ages 2 to 11.
