“Titanic” this weekend became the first movie to break the $1-billion mark overseas. The Oscar-winning romantic epic, which has been seen in 58 countries outside the U.S. and Canada, passed the benchmark Saturday, according to estimates by 20th Century Fox. It has now almost doubled the haul of the previous foreign record-holder, 1993’s “Jurassic Park.” “Titanic” was launched internationally on Dec. 18 in Australia, one day before it premiered in the United States. It has broken national box-office records in more than 50 countries, Fox said.
