Meeting Seeks Opinions on Four Land Use Plans

Share

Public comment will be sought tonight on four alternatives for developing a general land use management plan for the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.

Each of the four proposals emphasizes a specific approach to management of the national recreation area for the next 20 years: preservation, recreation, education or an integration of the other three approaches, said National Park Service spokeswoman Jean Bray.

The meeting will be held from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Webster Elementary School, 3602 Winter Canyon Road.

The proposals are presented in a detailed newsletter published by the National Park Service in cooperation with California State Parks Department and Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy.
