Hidden Cameras in Park Showers

At least two hidden cameras have been found in public shower stalls at Yosemite National Park, apparently designed to grab nude images of unsuspecting campers, park officials said Thursday.

“These are definitely cameras that had been secreted by somebody in the bathrooms, assumably for some kind of prurient purpose,” park spokesman Kendell Thompson told reporters.

Officials said a male visitor discovered one camera last month when he noticed a red light behind an air freshener in his shower stall. When he took the cover off, a video camera was revealed. He checked other stalls and found one more secret camera, they said.

Christine Cowles, a park spokeswoman, said all other public showers at the park had been checked and are clear of any kind of recording devices.
