Redevelopment Chief Appointed
The Los Angeles redevelopment board appointed interim agency head Jerry Scharlin as administrator of the agency, with a two-year contract.
The Community Redevelopment Agency board vote was unanimous, even though the union representing many agency employees voiced concern that the board had promised an open search.
“Mr. Scharlin has the leadership qualities and personal convictions essential to building the CRA,” said Board Chairwoman Peggy Moore.
The appointment was forwarded to the City Council for final consideration.
