WellPoint Pharmacy Wins Contract to Serve 360,000
WellPoint Pharmacy Management of Thousand Oaks has been awarded a contract by Providence Health Plan of Portland, Ore.
Under the agreement, WellPoint Pharmacy will provide clinical and formulary management services for Providence Health Plan’s HMO, PPO and point-of-service lines of business, which encompass 360,000 members. Other services will include therapy and disease management.
WellPoint Pharmacy is a subsidiary of WellPoint Health Networks, which continues to expand its nationwide presence. WellPoint Pharmacy manages prescription benefits for approximately 20 million people.
WellPoint Health Networks, one of the nation’s largest publicly traded managed-care companies, serves the health-care needs of 6.9 million medical and 29.7 million specialty members through Blue Cross of California in California and Unicare in other parts of the country.
