After several months of negotiations, Huntington Beach City School District teachers will be getting a 3% raise, effective July 1, district officials said. “I’m very thankful that it is resolved and we can get on with the rest of the issues that surround the school district,” said Kathy Kessler, assistant superintendent of personnel services. Kessler said that 1.65% of the salary increase will be funded through a state staff development incentive program and that the other 1.35% will be funded by the district. Teachers will be paid for 180 teaching days, three staff development days and a preparation day, Kessler said.
