The City Council on Tuesday approved a contract between the city and the Orange County Transportation Authority to provide van transportation to senior citizens participating in city programs. Service will be available from July 1 through the end of October. Under the agreement, the city will be billed $2.04 for each “no show” recorded by drivers. Drivers will wait up to five minutes after the scheduled time for a passenger; if the passenger is not ready, the driver will leave the location and charge the city a “no show” fee. Additionally, cancellations must be made before 5 p.m. on the day before the trip. A same-day cancellation will be billed as a “no show.”
