Cheer for Children, a Redondo Beach-based group that aims to cheer up acutely ill and orthopedically disabled children at Easter, Halloween, and Christmas, and during the summer, needs volunteers for its Luau Party July 9 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. People are needed to barbecue food and serve it to children, and entertain them with Hawaiian music, dancing, hat making and stories of Hawaiian history.
