Storr’s Ice Time Is Short

Share

Goalie Jamie Storr was disgusted when he left the McNichols Arena ice Sunday afternoon much earlier than expected.

All of the mental and physical warmup, and he hardly got warmed up in playing only 5:09 of the Kings’ 7-2 loss to Colorado.

Stephane Fiset, expecting a day off, got most of it on the ice.

Storr’s role: five shots faced, two picked out of the net.

“I didn’t think I ever really got in the game,” he said. “The way Colorado came out and played, Steph stood on his head and still gave up five goals and we lost, 7-2.”

He had never been pulled that early “after two goals that weren’t that obvious,” he said. Storr’s claim was that both Avalanche goals against him were difficult plays. Coach Larry Robinson’s claim was that he needed to make saves on those shots to keep the Kings in the game.

Winger Glen Murray suffered a slight groin strain in Sunday’s game and Josh Green has been recalled from Springfield of the AHL.
