Prop. 187

The Times’ March 26 editorial, “It’s Time to Let Prop. 187 Die,” seems to confirm that the newspaper doesn’t believe what millions of voters say through the ballot box should count, but that the people’s will should be best measured by its telephone polls of a few hundred people.

It also demonstrates that Times editorialists fear that other federal judges may not agree with the single, targeted liberal judge who made the only ruling on the initiative thus far, stretching constitutional definitions to the extreme to justify a holdup of the people’s right to set reasonable eligibility requirements for the social use of tax money.
