FOCUS: ORANGE COUNTY COMMUNITY NEWS : WESTMINSTER
The City Council is trying to get two Vietnamese groups together to discuss having one unified Tet parade rather than two celebrations.
The city recently received two parade applications, one from the TET Parade Foundation for Feb. 6, and one from the Vietnamese Community of Southern California to conduct the festival Feb. 5.
The council will decide whether to grant the permits at its Tuesday meeting.
Tet Nguyen Dan, or Tet, is the Vietnamese celebration of the Lunar New Year. Observing the arrival of spring, it is the most important cultural and religious holiday for Vietnamese Americans.
