THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG

The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Thursday:

BREA

* Brea Mall: A grand theft was reported at J.C. Penney at 9:48 p.m.

* West Central Avenue: A petty theft was reported in the 400 block at 7:16 p.m. Wednesday.

COSTA MESA

* Harbor Boulevard: Vandalism was reported in the 2800 block at 9:13 a.m. Wednesday.

* Town Center Drive: A theft was reported in the 600 block at 8:18 a.m. Wednesday.

DANA POINT

* Big Sur Street: Deputies responded to a report of someone operating heavy equipment and causing a disturbance in the 33000 block at 3:15 p.m. Monday. The work crew left before deputies arrived.

* Doheny Park Road: A man reportedly stole a pair of shorts from a store in the 34000 block at 1:45 p.m. Monday.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY

* Silktree Street: Someone broke into a home and ransacked it in the 16600 block at 5:51 p.m. Tuesday.

* Slater Avenue: Police said an ex-employee entered a business in the 10100 block at 9:07 a.m. Tuesday with a key and removed computer parts and software. He also changed the computer passwords, making it impossible to access the files.

HUNTINGTON BEACH

* Bolsa Chica Road at Warner Avenue: Police said a man on a beach cruiser was riding around, exposing himself at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday.

* Whittier Boulevard: A man stole two cases of beer in the 12000 block at 12:28 p.m. Tuesday.

NEWPORT BEACH

* Birch Street: An unidentified man attempted to choke a restaurant manager in a dispute over a check in the 4200 block at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

* Von Karman Avenue: A motorcycle was stolen from a parking lot in the 4300 block between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

ORANGE

* Pearl Avenue: A prowler was reported in the 18000 block at 1:52 a.m. Thursday.

PLACENTIA

* Ruby Drive: Two juveniles were assaulted and pushed against a wall by a 6-foot-tall male in his 20s wearing a gray and blue tank top and jogging shorts at 8:13 a.m. Wednesday.

* Dolores Circle: Police responded to a call from a man whose wife had her $5,500 wedding ring stolen at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

SAN CLEMENTE

* Calle del Comercio: Someone reported hearing a woman screaming and a dog barking at the San Clemente Municipal Golf Course in the 2700 block at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies were unable to find anyone at the golf course.

* Coronado Lane: A woman reported her cellular phone was stolen from her bag in the 100 block at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

* Camino del Avion: The brakes reportedly went out on a car, triggering a three-car accident that injured four people near Del Obispo Street at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday.

* Camino Capistrano: Shirts and jeans were reportedly stolen from a clothing store in the 31000 block at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday.

VILLA PARK

* Verde Lomas Drive: A suspicious person was reported in the 10000 block at 9:14 a.m. Thursday.

YORBA LINDA

* Paseo De Toronto: A grand theft from an automobile was reported in the 24600 block at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday.

* Yorba Linda Boulevard at Yorba Ranch Road: A burglary was reported at 9:01 a.m.

Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports: Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Irvine, Laguna Beach, La Habra, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Tustin and Westminster.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department makes incident reports available on the Web. Go to https://www.ocsd.org and click on “Sheriff’s Blotter.” Incident reports are updated every few minutes and cover the cities of Dana Point, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton and Villa Park, as well as the county’s unincorporated areas.
