Cake Snob?

If baking cakes from scratch makes me a snob, I plead happily guilty (“Baking Outside the Box,” July 26). Boxed cake mixes are a tool of Satan, full of chemicals and lots of unidentifiable stuff. They’re “wildly popular” for the same reason McDonald’s and Pizza Hut and Taco Bell are “wildly popular”: Americans have been eating junk for so long, they don’t remember what real food tastes like.
