* Skate Park--The Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department will celebrate the grand opening of its first permanent skateboard facility on Saturday. Located at Cabrillo Boulevard and Garden Street, Skater’s Point includes a half-pipe, rails, fun boxes and ramps. Opening ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. with a ribbon cutting, followed by a parade, professional skateboarding demonstrations, open skating, equipment and clothing raffles, food, music and more. Free. The 14,600-square-foot park will be open daily from 8 a.m. to a half-hour after sunset. 897-2650.

* Singer-Songwriter--Grammy Award-winner Judy Collins will perform Sunday at the Lobero Theatre, 33 E. Canon Perdido St., Santa Barbara. Collins will perform works from her vast repertoire, which includes “Both Sides Now,” “Someday Soon,” “Chelsea Morning” and “Send in the Clowns.” Show time: 8 p.m. $38. 963-0761.

* Classical--Trinity Episcopal Church in Santa Barbara will present its “Abendmusik 2000” concert Sunday at 3:30 p.m. The 15th annual program will honor the music of Danish organist and composer Dietrich Buxtehude and Central European composers. In 1673, Buxtehude (1637-1707) inaugurated Abendmusik concerts, which combine vocal and instrumental works. Sunday’s concert will feature trumpeter Jim Lebertew and his brass quintet, organist David Gell and pianist Randolph Scherp. * Troubadour--Tracy Chapman will make a tour stop Tuesday at the Santa Barbara Bowl.
