Hazardous Waste Collection Planned

Share

Household hazardous waste may be discarded at a collection point at Pierce College next month, officials said.

Local residents may bring unwanted paint, motor oil, pesticides, cleaners and other common household chemicals that are toxic, corrosive, flammable or poisonous to the collection planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 9 and 10. Participants should enter the college from Mason Avenue.

Hazardous waste that ends up in a landfill, sewer or storm drain can become health, environmental and fire hazards, according to city officials.
