Dr. Michael Kaufman has joined PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. in Santa Ana as chief medical officer. He previously was senior vice president and chief medical officer of WellPoint Health Networks Inc. in Thousand Oaks. Before WellPoint, Kaufman served as vice president and medical director of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Inc. in Boston. He also worked as an attorney with Ropes & Gray in Boston and with Hogan & Hartson in Washington, D.C.
