Donald Day has been appointed president of Pacific Alternator & Starter Inc. in Fountain Valley. Before joining the company, he was general manager of operations for American Racing Inc., where he directed five manufacturing operations in California, Kentucky and Mexico, and director of operations for Teledyne Inc.’s Teledyne Picco division.

James J. Moloney has joined the Irvine office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher as a lateral associate in the corporate department. He had been with the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington for six years, the last three as special counsel in the office of mergers and acquisitions in the division of corporation finance.

Harold A. Poling has joined the board of advisors of BigFNI.com, an online credit rating and screening company in Laguna Niguel. He is the former chairman and chief executive of Ford Motor Co.

Michael Rowland has been named business development director for Simulation Sciences Inc. in Brea. Rowland was previously director of the company’s online business unit. Before joining Simulation Sciences, he was a process engineer with Mobil Oil Corp.
