San Fernando 6, Olympus (Utah) 1--Left-hander Jess Moreno (5-1) pitched a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and three walks for the Tigers (17-3) at Eldorado High.

Moreno hit a two-run triple in the sixth. John Sandoval had four hits and drove in a run for San Fernando (17-3).

Birmingham 8, West Jordan (Utah) 6--Rosalio Garcia (4-3) scattered seven hits, struck out 12 and walked three for the Patriots at Eldorado.

Luis Parra had two hits and three RBIs for Birmingham (14-5). Garcia, Raul Campos, Jimmy McGrath, Jose Avitia and Lucio Tapia each had two hits.

Poly 10, Santa Monica 9--Zack Sims-Jones had two hits and two RBIs for the Parrots, which scored five runs each in the third and fourth innings of a called after five innings because of a time limit at Western High.

Sergio Rodriguez (2-1) struck out three and walked one in a five-inning no-hitter in Poly’s 12-0 victory over Las Vegas Western earlier in the day.

Carlos Torres had two hits and drove in four runs for the Parrots (12-5).

Sylmar 7, San Francisco University 3--Hector Chavez pitched a one-hitter in his first start, striking out 12 and walking five.

Marco Estrada and Alex Chavez each had two hits and scored two runs for Sylmar.

Sylmar 16, Desert Pines (Nev.) 1--Hector Chavez had three hits and three RBIs, including a solo home run for the Spartans in the third inning.

Jamie Mah had two hits, including a solo home run in the third.

In a Liberty League game:

Viewpoint 4, Providence 3--The Patriots scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh at Calabasas High.

Brian Strumpf’s one-out, run-scoring single tied the score, 3-3, and put runners on first and third for Viewpoint (6-4, 4-1).

John Murray grounded to third, but the throw home was wild and Ryan Marrinan scored the winning run.

Eddie Navas was three for three with two RBIs and scored once for Providence (5-4, 3-3).
