Sidewalk Solicitors

I have been affronted and confronted by the hordes of pitchmen shoving their sexually explicit leaflets literally in my face (“Free Speech on Strip’s Sidewalks,” July 30). As a family visiting Las Vegas--a middle-aged married couple, a 21-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son--these smut solicitors gave each of us the same material. We had no way to avoid the morally bankrupt gauntlet we encountered numerous times while on the Las Vegas Strip.

What your article failed to mention was the outrageous number of people passing out leaflets and their aggression in doing so, the number of young children who receive lewd material and the vulnerability of passers-by who have no other way to get around this sidewalk porno show.
