NATO Peace Mission Extended 3 Months

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization agreed to extend its military peace mission in Macedonia by three months--until March 26--to help the nation preserve its fragile accord with ethnic Albanian rebels.
Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski asked the alliance this week to extend the mandate of its Task Force Fox, set up in September to monitor the return of government forces and displaced people from former flash points.
The lightly armed, German-led force is made up of 1,000 troops.
