Three Qualify for Toshiba

Tom McGinnis of Orlando, Fla., Kikuo Arai of Rancho Palos Verdes and Paul Parajeckas of Woburn, Mass., earned spots in the Toshiba Senior Classic through a qualifier Monday at Strawberry Farms in Irvine.

McGinnis shot five-under-par 67 to win the qualifier. Arai and Parajeckas each shot 68.

Ray Carrasco of Irvine is one of three players who shot 69 and will play today for the final spot. Ted Goin of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Gary Vanier of Pleasant Hills are the others in the playoff, which was postponed until today because of darkness.

The Toshiba Senior Classic is Friday through Sunday at Newport Beach Country Club.
