Former President Ronald Reagan is recovering so well from surgery for his broken hip that he may soon begin an accelerated program of physical therapy, his chief of staff said Tuesday.

“He looks stronger each day,” Joanne Drake said in her daily update from St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica.

Reagan, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 1994, fell and broke his hip Friday at his home in Bel-Air.
