Fan Says Frankens on the Right Track

I’m not an athlete, so I can’t say anything about miler John Lawson’s point of view [Jan. 20]. But from a track fan’s perspective, Al Franken has been good for track and field. Al and Don Franken have brought us indoor track for 41 consecutive years and have even put up their own money to keep the sport alive in Southern California. They’ve succeeded while meets sponsored by the L.A. Times and Muhammad Ali haven’t.
