Employment Fair Targeting Youth
A fair at Plaza Park on Wednesday will offer educational programs and services geared toward young job seekers.
“The idea of the job fair is to raise awareness in the community about the wide variety of services we have,” said Frank Ramirez, manager of Ventura County Youth Services, an event sponsor.
Many of the programs at the “Jobs for Youth & More” event will target participants ages 14 to 21. There will be an emphasis on reaching out to those who have barriers to becoming employed, such as those with limited English skills, school dropouts, and others with special needs or disabilities.
More than 25 exhibitors will be at the event, including representatives from the Ventura Unified School District, the Oxnard Police Department’s Cadet Program, Camarillo Youth Employment Service, the Port Hueneme Navy base, and the Center for Employment Training.
The fair will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. For more information, call 240-7062.
