A Van Nuys Superior Court jury on Wednesday convicted a 34-year-old Los Angeles man of stabbing a Studio City man to death and stealing his Porsche, authorities said.

Marcus Sartin was found guilty of first-degree murder in the August 1999 death of 41-year-old Mitchell Stanman, said Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

The jury also found Sartin guilty of special circumstances charges and convicted him of robbery, carjacking and burglary, she said.

Stanman, believed to have been slain Aug. 30 or 31, 1999, was found by his maid tied up and stabbed to death in his Studio City apartment on Sept. 2.

Missing were his 1999 silver Porsche Boxster and an $18,000 gold Rolex watch.

Prosecutors opted not to seek the death penalty for Sartin, who is scheduled to be sentenced May 7.

He faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
