Youths working without diving equipment recovered 11 bodies from a ferry that capsized in Goma, a Lake Kivu port in eastern Congo, after two professional divers were arrested for allegedly stealing from the victims.

Altogether, 30 bodies have been recovered since the Musaka capsized at a dock Thursday when passengers and well-wishers rushed aboard to escape a downpour. Congolese officials said they feared that more than 100 people had been trapped inside the ferry.

The two professional divers were searched, and authorities found bundles of money tied to their bodies with twine, a navy officer said.
