Oregon 97, Long Beach State 67--Luke Ridnour had 18 points and seven assists as Oregon remained undefeated this season with a victory in the America’s Youth Classic at Eugene.

Oregon (3-0) had scoring runs of 9-0 and 18-0 to start the game as it took an early 27-5 lead.

Long Beach State (2-1) fought its way back into the game, however, scoring 22 points in the final seven minutes, including nine from James Williams, who led the 49ers with 17 overall.

Loyola Marymount 67, Idaho State 56--Keith Kincade came off the bench to score 14 of his career-high 18 points in the first half at Gersten Pavilion.

Kincade’s three-pointer with 11:40 remaining in the first half capped a 14-0 Lion run that erased an early 9-0 Idaho State lead. Loyola Marymount (2-1) led, 32-25, at halftime.

Idaho State (0-1) cut the lead to 50-45 on D’Marr Suggs’ three-pointer with 6:00 to play.

Loyola pulled away with a 17-11 run and connected on 12 of 15 free throws in the second half to seal the victory.

Greg Lakey scored 16 points and Eurskine Robinson added 10 points for the Lions, who shot 56% from the field.

Nevada 85, Cal State Northridge 75--Garry Hill-Thomas scored nine of his 26 points in the final 5:30 in the season opener for both schools at Matador Gym.

Nevada was up, 60-40, with 10:33 to play, but Markus Carr scored 15 points as the Matadors outscored the Wolf Pack 24-4 over the next 3:21. Northridge tied the score at 64-64 with 5:37 remaining.

Nevada countered with a 9-0 run launched by Hill-Thomas’ two free throws with 5:29 to play. Carr’s two free throws with 1:07 to play pulled Northridge to within six, but Hill-Thomas, Terrance Green and Andre Hazel each made two free throws to seal the victory.

Portland 75, UC Riverside 67--Ross Jorgusen scored 25 points and Coky Rochin added 19 at Portland.

Vili Morton led Riverside, which is starting its second year as a Division I school, with 16 points.

After a three-pointer by Jason Perkins cut the Pilots’ lead to 68-62 with 3:16 left, but the Highlanders failed to get any closer.

UC Santa Barbara 51, Westmont 42--Branduinn Fullove scored 19 points, including a key three-pointer late in the game, at Robertson Gym.

Santa Barbara (1-0) led by only two at the three-minute mark, but outscored the Warriors 11-4 in the final minutes.

Fullove’s three-pointer with two seconds left on the shot clock put the Gauchos up 45-38 with 1:32 to play.

Chris Clark led Westmont (1-3) with 14 points.
