Former Prosecutor Will Not Be Jailed for Assault
A former prosecutor facing sentencing on felony assault charges avoided jail Wednesday when a judge reduced the charge to a misdemeanor.
Donald Schweitzer, a former deputy district attorney, pleaded guilty to beating his estranged wife’s boyfriend last year as the man slept.
Superior Court Judge Francisco Briseno put him on probation and ordered him into counseling and an anger management program.
