Boy’s Attorneys Seek to Suppress His Statements
From Times Wire Reports
Lawyers for a 15-year-old boy accused of taking part in the slaying of a homeless man last summer sought Wednesday to suppress his statements to police.
Rocky Mattley of Ventura and three others are charged with robbing and beating James Clark, 58, as he lay in a sleeping bag.
At issue Wednesday in Mattley’s trial was whether he understood what he was doing when he waived his Miranda rights and talked to police after his arrest.
