Trojans Make Move in Poll

USC does not play Colorado until this weekend, but the Trojans achieved a victory of sorts Sunday when they moved past the Buffaloes in the Associated Press poll.

USC defeated Auburn, 24-17, in its opener last Monday and was idle Saturday. Colorado, which lost to Colorado State in its opener, defeated San Diego State, 34-14.

But USC and Colorado switched spots in the media poll, the Trojans moving from No. 18 to No. 17 and Colorado falling from No. 17 to No. 18.

After two days off, USC players will do a walk-through today and resume full practice Tuesday.

Senior running back Justin Fargas and senior fullback Chad Pierson are expected to return from hamstring injuries.

Quarterback Carson Palmer and receiver Kareem Kelly are familiar with success against Colorado, which has never defeated the Trojans in four games.

Palmer completed 25 of 30 passes for 275 yards in USC’s 17-14 victory in 2000. Kelly caught a career-best 10 passes for 145 yards.
