Gun in Checked Bag Fires; 1 at Airport Hurt
From Times Wire Reports
A gun inside a checked bag accidentally discharged in a ramp area at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, injuring an American Airlines employee, officials said.
U.S. officials are reviewing the Friday incident, which appears to be a federal violation.
Guns are permissible inside checked bags, but they must be unloaded and the passenger must be authorized to carry a weapon. The bag had been properly screened, an official said.
The FBI took a 50-year-old woman into custody.
