2 Afghan Soldiers Slain; Italian Troops Attacked
Two Afghan soldiers were fatally shot in southern Afghanistan, while unidentified attackers threw hand grenades at Italian troops on patrol in the east, the U.S. military said.
No Italians were injured in Saturday’s grenade attack near Khowst, the military said. In a separate attack Sunday, a rocket was fired toward a coalition base in Orgun in Paktika province. No damage was reported.
Also Sunday, two Afghan soldiers were shot and killed near Spin Buldak, in Kandahar province. Circumstances of the shootings were unclear.
