From Times Wire Reports

Federal environmental officials say a plan to clean up groundwater at a former Oroville wood treatment plant isn’t practical.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said it’s scrapping plans to clean up the former Koppers Co. site and may use a new technology to finish the job.

The EPA has amended its 1992 enforcement document for the site and is seeking public comment on the plan until Sept. 7.
