Remains Are Those of Suspected Killer
Human remains found after a fiery police standoff have been positively identified as those of the suspected killer of Sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Sorensen.
Coroner’s spokesman David Campbell said X-rays were used to identify Donald Charles Kueck, 52, of Llano. Test results to determine cause of death will take six to eight weeks.
Kueck was named as the only suspect after Sorensen, 46, was gunned down Aug. 2 near Kueck’s trailer home while investigating a trespassing complaint. After a weeklong manhunt, deputies found Kueck barricaded in a nearby garage. The fire broke out during a fierce gun battle.
