Remains Are Those of Suspected Killer
From Times Staff Reports
Human remains found after a fiery police standoff have been positively identified as those of the suspected killer of Sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Sorensen.
Coroner’s spokesman David Campbell said X-rays were used to identify Donald Charles Kueck, 52, of Llano.
Sorensen, 46, was gunned down Aug. 2 near Kueck’s trailer home. After a weeklong manhunt, deputies found Kueck barricaded in a garage. The fire broke out during a fierce gun battle.
