A fire at Carl E. Gilbert Elementary School in Buena Park raced through two classrooms Wednesday night, destroying one of them, authorities said.
Orange County Fire Authority first received a call about the fire at 8:48 p.m. Ten engines and 45 firefighters responded and were able to keep it contained to the two classrooms. One of them, however, was destroyed, said Capt. Stephen Miller.
The other has partial smoke and heat damage.
The fire also caused smoke and heat damage to the school’s library, Miller said.
No one was injured in the blaze, and Miller said investigators are assessing the cause.
